Established in March 1984, the Association has been integral to advancing Chinese herbal medicine in the United States, contributing to the well-being of the public as well as the numerous businesses of the Chinese herbal medicine industry, such as manufacturers, distributors, agents, importers, wholesalers, supermarkets, and retailers. The Association has been integral to building a network of over 3,000 members comprised of Chinese herbal medicine scholars, academia, practitioners, regulatory consultants, and other experts who are dedicated to uniting and promoting cooperation in the industry, enhancing professional standards, and deepening public understanding of the benefits of Chinese herbal medicine. Collaborating with Chinese medicine organizations across the globe, the Association has been at the forefront of rigorous training and education, examination, and certification of the professional workforce in the United States Chinese herbal medicine industry. Its establishment of the American Research Institute of Chinese Medicine in 2020 is in furtherance of its motto “Self-Strengthening, Self-Discipline, and Self-Improvement of Professional Standards;” and its 2022 inauguration of the first Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine Exhibition Hall in San Francisco is an excellent way to showcase and broaden the understanding of the benefits of over 600 commonly used Chinese herbal medicines for domestic and international students, tourists, and the public. Congratulations to the American Chinese Herb Trade Association on this occasion of its 40th anniversary for its contributions to improve the health and well-being of communities near and far with the care by professionally trained and certified practitioners and benefits of Chinese herbal medicines. I extend very best wishes to the Association for continued success. Sincerely, BETTY T.
